Johalna, with a passion for the industry was elected as a Director with the Training portfolio and one of the Chairmen for IEASA North in 2008. She would like to see that IEASA as a professional body takes in it’s rightfull place in the industry, recieves the recognition befitting it on legaslative and industry related levels as IEASA is the only voice representing the Real Estate Industry. Further this, IEASA North must add value to it’s members and to the industry on regional legislative matters, training, ethics etc. while endeavouring to investigate and represent burning issues. Equally important, is that IEASA North exists as a viable business entity for its members.

Johalna Minnaar, Mathematical teacher by profession, has had extensive exposure to the property market since 1983. She has gained years of experience in residential estate business, residential sales and commercial property portfolio administration as well as leasing and sales of commercial property.

Her natural approach to client relations has contributed to her success in owning a coffee shop franchise for 7 years. This has afforded her the valuable opportunity and exposure to not only managing a business and human resources but also applying her financial and administrative skills.

She re-entered the property industry in 2002 and joined RealNet Holdings in 2006 as the Regional Manager of Gauteng North. This has allowed her to apply her business acumen in the managing and support of the franchisees in the Gauteng North Region as well as building long term relationships with her colleagues, franchisees and partners in the industra.

Werner, an Estate Agent since 1985, has more than 23 years experience as Agent and 17 years as Principal.<br />
He obtained a BA Honors Degree in Political Science and Development Administration at the Potchefstroom University for CHE (now Northwest University) in 1984. Werner then, in 1988, completed his Diploma in Advanced Property Practice through the Institute of Estate Agents.<br />
He has personally sold more than 1500 properties in his career as Estate Agent, sold out more than 50 developments, and is consultant to various property developers. In the past eight years Werner has specialized in the marketing of densified farm land and ready-to-build stands in the east of Pretoria, and is undoubtedly the undisputed market leader in this niche market.<br />
In his initiatives, Werner can bank on the support of numerous professional associates and service providers.<br />
Werner is a Director on the Board of the Institute of Estate Agents of South Africa of the North Gauteng Region, and is also a qualified Assessor for the FET (Further Education and Training) Certificate for Real Estate.<br />
He is furthermore a successful Property Investor.<br />

Christo Steyn

Christo has been in the Banking Industry since 1984. Positions held were Branch Manager, Area Manager, Regional Manager, Regional Mortgage Manager and General Manager Business Banking.
In 2004 Christo joined a Property Development and sales company and over 1200 properties were developed and sold during this period to date. In 2009 He acquired an International Brand Franchise in two trade areas in the greater Pretoria/Tshwane region and current Business focus is on Property Sales and Marketing.
Other qualifications than that of Banker is Commercial Industrial Specialist (DipCIS),Strategic Leadership Programme (SLP) at California State University, International Executive Programme (IEP) at INSEAD Business School in France and Singapore and achieved the required NQF 5 qualification for Property Principals in 2010.
Christo was elected onto the Board of the Institute of Estate Agents of South Africa for the Northern Gauteng Region in 2010.

WILLEM TOBIAS MARAIS (WILLIE) received his Doctorate in Business Administration in 1997. His thesis was based on: “A Service Quality Strategy for the Estate Agency Business in South Africa”.
His career in the Real Estate Industry began in 1981 with Nasdorp (Pty) Ltd, first as an Estate Agent for 5 years and then as Marketing Manager. This first foray into the Industry led to his ultimately becoming Managing Director of ERA South Africa Real Estate in 1993 to 1998.

Since 1982, Willie has been actively involved with IEASA. In 1987, he was elected on the IEASA North Directorate for the first time where he served for twelve years, four as Vice-Chairperson and three as Chairperson.

In 2005 he was once more made Vice-Chairperson of our Region and subsequently Vice-President of IEASA National, where he previously served for eleven years, four as Vice-President. He also served on the EAAB, and is currently serving on the boards of Homenet Real Estate, MLS Gauteng North, MLS National and the listed Omnia Holdings Ltd.

He maintains contact with the academy and training by remaining moderator and external examiner since 1996 for the subject “Property Marketing” at Unisa.

Portfolio Objectives
Willie sums up his position on the IEASA North Board of Directors very effectively when he says, “Although my primary portfolio as Vice-Chair is National representation, good corporate governance on our Board is equally important for me. On a national level, my vision for the Institute is to be the undisputed voice for estate agents. On the local level my purpose is for us to manage our Board totally responsibly and pro-actively."

Annemarie Aspeling

Anne-Marie (Ammie) Aspeling was Credit Controller responsible for Gauteng in Momentum where she served 16 years  In her first year of Estate Agent she received the award from IEASA as the number nine agent in Gauteng North. She also won the award as the Rouke Agent of the year in her first year of becoming an Estate Agent at her Agency

In 2008 she started her own Estate Agency with the name ASAP.Properties.&nbsp; In the recession years she steadily grows into a trustworthy and well know Agency in Centurion.

In 2010 she got the award from IEASA as the Number 2 selling Principal in Gauteng North.&nbsp; She has done her diploma in Advanced Property Management at CPMD (The college of people management and development)

At the moment her agency ASAP is involved in 3 new developments in Centurion and Pretoria North.&nbsp; She has just spread her wings to Stellenbosch marketing a new development in Student Housing.&nbsp; Her motto is TO BE THE BEST BY OWN CHOICE. Her fast growing agency is served by agents that know what ASAP stands for and everyone of them serves their clients the best they can be by own choice. Rothea Olivier

From the international world of cosmetics, to the South African real estate market, Rothea Olivier has a career path of outstanding successes.

Rothea actually started her working career as a bank clerk with then Trust Bank, but entered the world of cosmetics soon thereafter, and there was no looking back. From being a self-employed beauty consultant, her motivational and leadership qualities were soon recognized, and she rose through the ranks, finally becoming the most successful Manager for the Group, throughout Southern Africa. Commission earnings of her 957-strong consultant team, plus 15 managers, exceeded all expectations, and she won several overseas trips and many other accolades.

Needing a new challenge, she decided to enter the property market, and now some 30 years later, she is a highly respected member of the Industry. She built the residential sales division of various companies from zero to a sales force of 80 people, with a turnover in excess of R50m per month, during the 1990’s. Rothea also proudly lays claim to becoming the first female Director as Director of Marketing on the EG CHAPMAN Directorate.

She was previously an active Director for a period of 10 years, and also the Chairperson for a period of 3 consecutive years, of the Institute of Estate Agents - Northern Region.

In 1996 Rothea founded the RealNet Property Group in Pretoria. She envisioned a super successful national real estate franchising group, and worked determinedly toward this goal, and today the RealNet Franchise Group is the fastest growing franchise group in the Industry, with concession-holders situated throughout the country. During October 2005, Rothea once again accepted the position of Chairperson of the Institute - Northern Region, for a further period of office, and she also remains the Chairperson of RealNet Holdings.

“Throughout my working life I have actively been involved in training, as I recognize the need for this in the workplace, so that people may appreciate the satisfaction for performing to their full potential. It gives me great satisfaction to equip others with the knowledge, new innovative ideas, creativity and skills to be able to perform at their peak. If I am able to successfully impart this to the individual players within the industry, it will ultimately benefit and uplift the standards within the Industry itself”

“It is also exactly to this end that I accepted the position of Chairperson in October – I wish to be able to lift standards; implement new systems that will take the Institute into the future; train the new Directors to give them a thorough understanding of the Industry; and prepare them for leadership of the Industry in such a way that their contributions will enhance the Industry.”

Over and above this, Rothea will be offering career evenings and BEE Training, on behalf of the Institute, at various venues, including High Schools, so that from an early age, the Real Estate Industry can be seen as a Career choice – “This will cause a paradigm shift in the mind set of the man in the street – and this can only be to the benefit of the Industry,” says Rothea.

My involvement with real estate started at ABSA Homeloans 1995, whereby I successfully completed my Property Finance Diploma through The Institute of Bankers, June 2000. I Continued with home loans at PA Homeloans now Better Bond. Completed The Fundamental Principals of Estate Agency Certificate 2005 and successfully wrote the EAAB Board Exam 2007. My Real Estate Career started January 2008 with RE/MAX Jowic as a Broker / Manager whereby the RE/MAX Franchise Management Training was completed in February 2008 as well as CRS 202 & 210 during June 2008. Other additional in-house training includes Brain Buffini Recruit Bootcamp and Master Mentor Course for 100 Days to Greatness during 2010 as well as the Certified Distressed Property Expert (CDPE) during 01/2011. I have completed the FETC: Real Estate NQF 4 and National Certificate NQF 5 during 2009 and 2010 through iSeleSele Property Academy (Assessment College). I currently manage the RE/MAX Jowic Centurion office of 57 estate agents. My daily management includes the retaining and supporting of our sales associates, and the smooth running of our office.
